The brand will offer vouchers to its customers who buy school supplies so that in the end it only costs one euro. The signs are multiplying “buying power” trades in this inflation-driven back-to-school period.

After the fuel discounts, Casino will offer spectacular but temporary discounts on school supplies. While the cost of back-to-school products skyrockets this year by 4.5% according to the Families of France association, the distribution group offers a “supplies at 1 euro” operation.

As with fuel, Casino customers will be given a voucher for the purchase of school supplies. From this Thursday, August 25, until Saturday, August 27, for 40 euros of purchases in the school supplies department, the brand will give away 39 euros of voucher (maximum amount). For 35 euros of purchases, these are 34 euros of vouchers that the customer will benefit from, etc.

A discount that customers can benefit from for a week from 100 euros of food purchase. The operation will be repeated next weekend (from September 1 to 3).

In this new school year marked by a level of inflation that has not been seen for several decades, brands multiply discounts and various operations in favor of purchasing power. Carrefour thus announced this week the blocking of the prices of a hundred essential products, Auchan offers a range of essential products for less than one euro, Leclerc recovers the wallets of former users against a voucher of 10 euros.

Inflation continues to rise in supermarkets in France. According to Iri, after an average increase of 6.7% in July, prices increased by 7.9% in August. A particularly strong increase in basic products purchased by low-income households, up nearly 13% in August compared to the same month in 2021.
