The 76 signatories of the complaint against X filed this Monday, consulted by AFP and revealed by Le Figaro, are mainly Russian citizens residing in France or French of Russian origin or with Slavic-sounding names, clients in large French banking establishments or online banks. . .

The plaintiffs, from many different professions (student, librarian, businessman, psychologist, etc.) have “faced a series of problems with French banking establishments” since “the beginning of the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine”, such as the refusal of a loan, blockage, refusal to open or close your accounts.

Asked by their clients about these difficulties, the banks were able to reply: “Due to the current political circumstances, your account is temporarily blocked”; “These are banking regulations in the face of current political problems”; “The blocking is due to their nationality in the current context.”
