“I was summoned by the Minister of Economy @SergioMassa to take up the position of Controller of ENRE, the body that controls the electricity service,” announced the designated official on Twitter, in a message that was reproduced Sunday by the Minister of ‘Economy, with the photo of their meeting.

In this way, Hammer will replace itself in the position of Maria Soledad Maninclose to the displaced Under-Secretary for Electricity Federico Basualdo, who responded Cristina Kirchner and had a hard time with Martin Guzman.

“I am aware of the difficult times we are going through and the importance of ensuring the transparency of companies’ actions,” said Martello in his statement.

In an extensive Twitter thread, Martello announced that he will leave his post in Buenos Aires, where he has served for the past six years, to be able to focus solely on ENRE reform, and left some concepts about it.

“For years I have questioned the poor service performance and balance sheets of power companies. I am aware that, in many cases, users’ claims are not even heard and their rights are violated,” he wrote.

He also said he was clear that “major fines have been determined and compensation has been paid during the current administration.”

“These are resources that, many times, do not reach the most vulnerable sectors of society,” he continued. In this sense, you said you spoke with Massa “about the need for a reform of the body aimed at making complaints accessible”.

“With this in mind, together with my team, we have studied comparative experiences of immediate compensation for service failures,” he continued.

Martello explained that the goal is to create the conditions to help regulators of public services to guarantee the rights of users in an uncompromising way “independently of the company, without distinction of owners and / or shareholders”, he stressed.

“We will work so that every weight paid in terms of electricity tariffs has a correlation in terms of investment and efficiency. Our idea is that there are no customers but users of an essential service,” he estimated.

Finally, he affirmed that he will use the tools of the legislation and will be able to make personal and group efforts “to move towards a quality service, with the centrality in the users and not in the profits of the companies”.

“We will not hesitate to go to court if the situation demands it,” he warned. And she stressed: “Companies must understand that you cannot go towards first world rates with third world services”.

“For us, the dispute over the asymmetry of interests has already been resolved by justice by the Court’s ruling in the Cepis case”, he concluded.

Martello was a Buenos Aires legislator, advisor to Esteban Echeverría, Pro-Legislative Secretary in the Chamber of Deputies and vice-president of the Buenos Aires Youth, Addictions and Violence Research Institute.
