Distributors and manufacturers began new trade negotiations in mid-March aimed at protecting the remuneration of farmers, affected by an increase in their production costs linked to the conflict in Ukraine.
But almost five months later, relations between the various actors have become strained. Jean-Philippe André, president of the National Association of Food Industries (Ania), testified about these difficulties on the set of BFM Business.
With among these 15,000 companies, industrial giants such as Coca-Cola, Danone, Mars, Nestlé or even Lactalis.
At the moment, some distributors and manufacturers cannot agree on the price increase to apply. Intermarché has thus decided to dispense with several brands due to “unjustified double-digit price increases”. Among the affected products we find Evian, Badoit and Volvic (Danone Eaux), as well as Old Nick or Negrita drinks (Bardinet group) in the spirits department, the specialized drinks site Rayon reported last week.
Towards new negotiations to transfer the rise in energy prices?
To make matters worse, the situation has become even more complicated in recent months with severe episodes of drought and bad weather, and rising energy prices.
Meanwhile, the negotiations [de mars] To follow. We should be surprised, in a country like France, that in September the negotiations started because of the war in Ukraine were not completed”, lamented Jean-Philippe André, also chairman of the board of directors of Haribo France.
