The Ministry of Energy published on Tuesday the new prices of the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM) for level 1composed of users with higher incomes, which are those left without subsidy. This is the step that precedes the diffusion of the new tariff table for the two months from September to October.

It’s about him new seasonal wholesale energy price for Level 1 (high income) users, which are the ones who will lose benefits.

The provision was reflected in the decree 629/2022, published in the Official Gazette. Soon it must be supplemented by another standard which has the new values ​​for distribution. This should happen, as the validity of the new tariffs will start on Thursday 1st September.

The decree of 26 August sets out in annex the new Reference Prices of Electricity (Potref) and Stabilized Energy (PEE) of the MEM “to be applied according to the segmentation referred to in Decree 16 June 2022 n. 332”.

The rule is the first to discriminate prices according to the levels established in the segmentation and show the values ​​published in the annex increases for level 1 from 65.87% to 74.79%, depending on whether it is peak, off-peak or off-peak hours.

In any case, these percentages do not lead to an adjustment of the same amount of the distribution tariff, as it considers four components: generation, transmission, distribution and tax burden (national, provincial and municipal).

What are the wholesale energy prices

The Potref has been set at $ 80,000 per MW / month for the three levels of residential, general non-residential demand, public bodies and the Health and Education sector, while for Large User Distributors (GUDI) it will be $ 463,310 MW / month. .

In the case of PEE, the price per MWh in the rush hour was $ 3,129 for tiers 2 (beneficiaries of the social rate) and 3 (intermediate between 1 and 2), at $ 5,190 for level 1, $ 6,165 for non-residential, $ 6,337 for public bodies, health and education e $ 13,434 for GUDI.

For the remainder of the hour, prices were set at $ 2,981 for Levels 2 and 3, $ 5,070 for Level 1, $ 6,005 for Non-Residential, $ 6,179 for Public Organizations, Health and Education, and $ 13,427 for GUDI.

Finally, off-peak prices for the September-October two-month period will be $ 2,832 for levels 2 and 3, $ 4,950 for level 1, $ 5,844 for non-residential, $ 6,019 for government, health and education. and $ 13,421 for the GUDI.

From Energy, they made it clear to Clarín that this Wednesday 31, the last day of August, Seasonal energy prices for level 3 (average income) will also be known. These will continue to receive a subsidized rate but with a consumption limit. This limit is 400 kWh for users throughout the country and rises to 550 kWh for cities where there is no Natural Gas service.
