It was an exciting afternoon this Saturday at Mar del Plata International Film Festival. Specially for Ricardo Darinwho was surprised with an important recognition: they gave him the Lifetime Achievement Award and honored him for his successful career.
The authorities of the event recognized the actor a few minutes before the screening of Argentina 1985the last film in which he participated – as protagonist and producer -, which broke records nationwide, managing to fill hundreds of cinemas across the country.
The astor award was delivered to a room packed with people after reviewing some of the major projects he was part of, such as Nine queens, Chinese tale or The secret in their eyesthe latter winner of an Oscar.
“I am very grateful, it is something I did not expect but I like it very much,” said Darín after receiving the award that made everyone present stand up, who celebrated with long minutes of applause.
It was respectively the artistic director and the president of the Festival, Pablo Code and Fernando Juan Lima, who presented the award to the actor who took the stage to receive it wearing a blue jacket, light shirt and glasses.
“It is an exciting journey through each of these places – he said at a press conference on the recognition of his work -. There are many hours of work with countless colleagues ”, she stressed.
Darín’s presence at the festival and his plans for the future
“We had given the word to be here,” said Ricardo Darín referring to the event that took place in Mar del Plata.
The actor arrived at the Auditorium accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Tristán Bauer, and by the interim vice-president of the Incaa presidency, Nicolás Battle, amidst flashes and part of the audience who was at the entrance.
After the emotional moment and in the dialogue with the press, Darín stressed that, although he has plans for the future, he still wants to go “slowly”.
As he shared, the great repercussion that the film directed by Santiago Miter has garnered in festivals, “forced the film crew to continue accompanying the film in several invitations”.
