The four sat in the news studio and chatted very relaxed. Although the singer speaks and understands Spanish, they did everything in English so that the guitarist was not left out.

“We always like to be here”

-Baby: Welcome home.

Chris: -In reality it is already our home … (laughs)

-Juana: How long have I been here, two, three weeks?

Chris and Johnny: – Almost three weeks, yes.

-Juana: Have you already obtained an Argentine ID? (laughs)

Chris: -Yup. We are so happy here! The reason we wanted to do this reportage was to thank everyone, because they were very special days for us. We always enjoy being here in Argentina, but this time “it was a new level” (he said it in Spanish).

-Juana: What’s the difference this time?

Chris: -I do not know. Perhaps people are more afraid of all the madness in the world, so the power of love and joy is more important than ever. It happens to us, as a band, when we play here it gives us everything we need to travel the world.

“There is something here that makes us feel alive”

-Bebe: I feel like they have joined the Rolling Stones club, who play all over the world but when they come here it generates a very special passion and love. You guys are in that league. We Argentines have adopted them.

Chris: -Can be. I think all we do is show the audience how awesome it is. We are a mirror.

-Juana: I’ve seen them live and it’s not just about the music and the lyrics, but there’s a great sense of love in everything they do.

Chris: -Maybe we are like any human being and all we need is the power of that connection, especially after Covid and all that is happening in Ukraine, Iran and so many places. We are very lucky to be free and to be able to do what we love in a place we love. We are not afraid to express love, perhaps because we are old now (laughs), but it really is. There is something here that makes us feel alive.

-Bebe: Live I’m still a rock band, beyond the lights and the huge stage. The four are playing songs, like when they started.

Chris: -Sometimes we play rock but sometimes we play soft rock. When we played a few months ago, Mick Jagger came to visit us and said “This is the power of soft rock!” (laughs)

-Bebe: Was it ironic?

Chris: -No. I think we have the spirit of rock and roll, which is about freedom of expression and being authentic, so we definitely have that. I don’t know if you can still call us “a rock band” because we do so many different things, but it’s important that it’s still the four of us.

-Juana: What is the recipe for continuing to play together after 25 years?

Johnny: I think it’s friendship, love and brotherhood. Growing up together, we realized that the only thing we have are the other three. We really have to appreciate it, because when we started we didn’t know it. We were together because we wanted to be great, and now we realize it’s about the friendship we have, caring for each other and helping each other.

Chris: -Collaborate together.

-Bebe: There is much more to the show than music. Do you take care of everything?

Chris: -Yes of course. All. The four of them. Currently the visual part and the musical part are equally important, with TikTok and Instagram. Most music comes with an image and the same thing happens in a recital. One example is that three nights ago we played a slightly different song, and then we realized it was a bad idea, with images that were wrong. You realize this on stage, so we feel weird if the lights or effects aren’t right. Everything has to fit.

Bracelets

Chris: -We started with glowing bracelets 10 years ago. They were designed by a guy who made sex toys, so he’s pretty good with small batteries. (laughs) He’s a little crazy, like you Bebe, and we told him we needed him on our show. Every year they continue to develop it and now we can make it change colors by sectors and make drawings

-The reason we love bracelets is because they make each person a part of the concert. Because in the stadium shows, after five minutes you have already seen everything and you understand that it is only four guys. But if all the spectators have the lights, the show is made by 60 thousand people. It’s not just the band anymore. We love that feeling of … family.

Johnny: -And we also get a great show with what we see.

The full report on Sunday.

Juana and Bebe’s interview with Chris and Jonny lasted almost half an hour. Only one section was seen in Telenoche. We will see the complete note this Sunday in eltrece, in the program have lunch with Giovannaat 13:45

The backstage of the note

As Contepomi told Clarín: “They called me a week ago to tell me that Chris Martin had asked to take a note, that he would come to the channel and that the note had to be taken with Juanita, at the request of the band, which seemed great to me. . and I liked the idea. It would have been done on Sunday at three in the afternoon, but two days earlier they warned it would happen on Monday. “

And he added: “There was no strange request or request, nothing strange. I have a good relationship with Chris Martin because I have already interviewed him three times and one day we were together at Bono’s house, so he identified me quite well. In fact, when I showed up before the note said ‘How many times will you show up, Bebe?’ and he gave me a very warm hug.

“Chris Martin acts like a normal guy and gives the absolute sense of normalcy and connection. There’s a lot more hysteria around him than what he conveys. The guy comes along and it’s like talking to a friend at a barbecue,” he said. completed.
