Among the dozens of participants of the various editions of Big Brother, only a handful have managed to transcend the format. And, of those few, only a couple have been able to make a name for themselves beyond reality. Or even associated with the format. This is the case of Gastón Trezeguet, former “little brother” of the first edition, more than twenty years ago, and today, expert of the most famous house of TV.
Trezeguet was one of the participants more astute, controversial and charismatic than the first edition of the Telefe program, back in 2001. At that time he was 21 years old and the format was an absolute novelty for the local public. GH revolutionized the small screen and the participants, entered anonymously, immediately became famous.
Fame, in fact, is what most seek when they close themselves in a house full of cameras and microphones. But that notoriety doesn’t always work in their favor. It made life difficult for more than one.
However, Trezeguet, who was a business economics student at UCA, was able to capitalize on everything that reality TV offered him and joined it, but behind the scenes. Gastón joined as a producer in 2007 and has been in that role in two other editions.
Word of the GH analyst
With sympathy, mischief and utter honesty, Trezeguet tells the participants who are being kicked out what they did wrong to be out of the game. “You don’t have to go to the fight and say what your strategy is”, warns (belatedly) those the public chooses to eliminate. The manufacturer claims it his new role as analyst amuses and excites him.
Today he comments on the match in the debates taking place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, led by Santiago del Moro, where he shares a panel with Laura Ubfal, Sol Pérez, Nati Jota, Ceferino Reato. In addition, he worked for 15 years as a producer for Kuarzo (formerly Endemol) in various corporate programs.
From those debates, Trezeguet offers the most comprehensive look at what happens every day inside the house, appealing to his own experience as a participant and what he was accumulating as an observerin subsequent editions.
In dialogue with Clarionehe says: “What I see is that they try to throw away strategies that they have seen or heard and that, apart from the spontaneous one from Coti to Mora, which went well, The rest I would tell you that everything is very bad“.
Some of the current players who tracked in the second week of the cycle, Gastón qualified them with no spins: “Nominated and sanctioned, not only bad players… but also cheaters”.
It is that his tactic of reaching an agreement with a partner, when he was at home, was unusual: left someone’s initial on the ice of the freezer so his allies would know who to vote forwithout being seen or heard by the Big Brother.
The plot of Now Boys it was much more obvious and not at all subtle: refer to possible votes by province of origin. He went very badly: punished.
A confessional in your life
In addition to the fact that the format marked a turning point in local television broadcasts (as had already happened with the format in other countries), that great exhibition 21 years ago also meant a before and an after for many who participated in that experience.
With a huge intuition to handle the format that was something completely new for everyone, Trezeguet was able to take everything the program offered him in his favor. And so it was He decided to tell on camera, and in front of millions on the other side, that he was bisexualsomething no one in his family knew.
He later clarified that it was the best way he could find to mask the problem with his parents. Openly and against the prejudices of twenty years ago, he won the sympathy of the public, as well as the complicity of his fellow prisoners13 other participants.
It’s been ten years since the last one GH in Telefe, and today networks play a fundamental role. “Now you see the show with a phone in hand and people are much more engaged. The same people who interact on the networks are the ones who then vote. that voice is so powerful“, To explain.
For this he adds: “Put the public against it is a serious mistake and very difficult to reverse. My advice is, if you’re going to get into reality TV, at least have an idea of what’s going on with the audience, look on YouTube even if it is. Usually, it escapes him that people always go out to protect the weakest“.
Among the other tips that Trezeguet offers from his experience is that It is useless to let a character into the house, as Tomás and Martina justified, the first two expelled. “I think they said it to justify their mistakes,” she admits. “It’s not just about playing well, you have to be lovable too. Or at least show no claws from the start“.
The podiums of Trezeguet
In the most famous house, Trezeguet assures that there is a certain logic, the same as in real life: “Either you like it or you don’t like it, it’s charisma and, if you don’t have it, no matter how hard you play, you don’t. works”. This is also the case in other situations, in which the participants of this edition have made a mess, such as with weekly purchases.
“It’s like when you go to the supermarket outside. Make a list, they don’t organize themselves into bases. And even more if they come in pairs: ‘You tell me what and I grab’. It’s not that complicated. But they are learning as the program progresses“, He says.
By playing it, even if he senses that there is still a long way to go and the house changes every week, he sees how possible candidates to win this 2022 edition to Coti, Romina and Marcos. And with enough chance, moreover, a Juliet and Augustine.
On the other hand, he does not foresee any future at home for Juan and Lucila, The Torah. “They got off to a bad start and it is very difficult to reverse that situation. Maybe it is enough to stay a little longer, but I don’t like winning the reality show“.
Trivia for the TV archive: the producer, considered by many to be the best player in the history of Big Brother of the Argentine editions, he didn’t even win the reality show.
In the 2001 edition, the winner was Marcelo Corazza and second place was obtained by Tamara Paganini. Trezeguet came in third placebut with that it was enough for him to forge a solid career linked to television.
As for the possibility of returning as a participant, he is honest: “I should leave my job, my organized life. I will not do it, unless it was for a very, very large sum of money. With previous experience we’d be fine“.
