Every December 1 is commemorated the world aids day, with the aim of raising awareness of this disease. Since 2002, the Huésped Foundation, together with the Noble Foundation and El Trece, has been making audiovisual productions that are broadcast on that channel and that seek to reach the public in a more direct way to create awareness.
All this material, produced annually in fiction format as well as other artistic productions, has already been available on the Flow platform since yesterday.
The Host Foundation understands this narrative is a key tool disseminate messages about HIV and sexual and reproductive rights and thereby promote prevention and reduce the stigma and discrimination surrounding it.
Word of Leandro Cahn
Its executive director, Leandro Cahn states: “The possibility of having a television space in all these years, through fictions, is a fundamental element of communication. It is the most daily and direct way to reach the public with educational material.
With this idea is that specials of a single expedition have been made every year, which El Trece broadcasts every December 1, on its screen. This is the only program that, through fiction, tries to naturalize the most important aspects of the problem.
Well-known actors and actresses participated in these specially created fictions, who lent themselves to the task of dissemination, always centered on that theme.
supportive artists
Artists donated their cachet, the production company worked towards the cost, and the channel donated all proceeds from advertising sales to the Foundation to continue research into this disease.
“Working together with El Trece is doubly important, both for the information it helps us disseminate from an accessible and clear place, and for the specific donation we receive and is necessary to continue working on the subject,” says Cahn. .
