According to Almodóvar, this production will use the Far West to introduce “dialogue that hasn’t occurred before in a western” and in which the concept of masculinity will be addressed “in a profound sense”.

What a strange way to live / To have this heart of mine / You live in a lost way / Who would give you a condom?…
“I think the lyrics of that fado suggest that there is no stranger life than one lived with one’s back turned to one’s desires,” the director said at the time.
In mid-June of this year, the start of filming was made official. It is the synopsis of this story that tells of a certain Silva, a rancher who crosses the desert on horseback to visit Sheriff Jake, with whom he had worked as a hit man, 25 years earlier. Now things have changed.
