Al Strobel, the remembered one-armed actor from the legendary series ‘Twin Peaks’ has died

american actor Albert Michael “Al” Strobelknown for his role as Phillip Gerard, the one-armed man from the famous series Twin peaksdied Friday in Eugene, Oregon, at the age of 83, it was reported today.

Producer and director David Lynch’s frequent collaborator Sabrina Sutherland released a statement on behalf of her colleagues.

“Through the darkness of the future past and with much sadness we say goodbye to Al Strobel. He was an invaluable human being and will always be an important part of our Twin Peaks family,” she wrote.

There were no details about the cause of his death.-

For his part, Mark Frost, creator of the series together with David Lynch, also used his social networks to remember him: “Dear Al, what a warm and wonderful pilot he was for all of us who have been lucky enough to know him over the years”.

“He was the sweetest of men. A wonderful storyteller…and watching him roll a cigarette with one hand: pure magic,” said former teammate Dana Ashbrook.

His career

The actor, who he lost his left arm in a car accident at the age of 17has made appearances in the acclaimed series since its taped pilot in 1989.

His character has appeared in Twin Peaks: Fire walk with me It’s inside ten episodes of the first two seasons from Twin peaks and reappeared for the comeback with the third of 2017.

His character was Gerard, a man who sold shoes and cut off his arm to prevent an evil entity (“Mikle”) from possessing him. He has appeared in several scenes throughout the series, sometimes as a character stalking Kyle MacLachlan’s character in his dreams.

Strobel had appeared in a handful of other titles throughout his career, including Megaville 1990 with Billy Zane and Ricochet River with Kate Hudson and Child of Darkness, Child of Light, a 1991 TV movie.

Strobel had retired in the early 2000s but briefly returned to acting to reprise his role as Gerard in Showtime’s Twin Peaks: The Return.
