As an anticipation of the upcoming Holidays, several important concerts have been scheduled in the city. And two of them will take place on Wednesday 14 December.
That day, at 8.30 pm at the Teatro Avenida (Avenida de Mayo 1222), the Prometeo Foundation will hold the “Concert for Peace” under the direction of the Italian composer Giovanni Panella and the aim of “promoting culture through a multifaceted artistic movement”.
“The program is designed with works evocative of that miraculous event, in which – moreover – one can appreciate the languages of the three forms of art: music, poetry and plastic arts” they explain.
First of all, the program is integrated with the Botticellian Triptych, a symphonic piece by Ottorino Respighi inspired by the observation of three pictorial works by Sandro Botticelli: Primavera, Adoration of the Magi and Birth of Venus. These will be screened simultaneously with the musical performance; which will allow to perceive the inspiration and the technique used by the author to evoke and transfer the images in the musical language (concept of migration between the arts, which demonstrates unity in beauty).
The concert continues with another work by Respighi: Lauda for the Nativity of the Lord; transparent work on the famous text by Jacopone da Todi, written for soloists, choir, six pastoral instruments and piano four hands.
The characters and performers of the solo parts will be: El ángel (Florencia Burgardt), María (Marta Rossi) and Un Pastor (Ricardo González Dorrego). The last piece of the concert will be an absolute first in our environment: Pomposia, written by Licinio Refice on a poem by Giovanni Pascoli, whose interpretation will be curated by the Vocal Octet “Ensamble Prometheus”.
The characters and performers are: El Ángel (Florencia Burgardt), María (Marta Rossi), A Shepherd (Ricardo González Dorrego) and Licinio Refice (Pomposia).
Also this Wednesday, but at 19:30 in the Synagogue Bet Hilel de Aráoz 2854, in Palermo, the Camerata del Rosedal and the musicians of the synagogue will perform the joint musical celebration: “Hanukkah and Christmas Concert”. It is a celebration between Bet Hillel and the church of San Tarcicio, under the auspices of the Argentine Judeo-Christian Brotherhood and the Commission for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires.
The Camerata will be directed by Bryan Cea and the temple musicians, by Alan Volosin, and works that celebrate Christians and Jews will be performed, repeating the experience of past Easter and Pesaj with the concert in the parish of San Tarcisio.
