France presented St. Omerby Alice Diop. Rama, a writer who attends the trial of Laurence Coly, who murdered her little daughter, at the Saint-Omer criminal court to use her story to write a modern adaptation of the ancient myth of Medea. She had her before her in Venice, like Argentina, 1985and there he won the Grand Jury Prize, received a nomination at the European Film Awards, attended London, also as Argentina, 1985and was in the top 5 foreigners by the National Board of Review.

But there are acclaimed films that won’t be nominated in that category.
