Black Panther: Wakanda Forever makes the leap from theaters to streaming

One of the most viewed films of 2022 in theaters finally comes to streaming. Disney+ has announced the release date of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The sequel to Black Panther arrives February 1 on the platform.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe film, one of the most anticipated of the year, he had to change all his plans after the death of his leading man, Chadwick Bosemandied of colon cancer on August 28, 2020.

As the Wakandans strive to embark on a new chapter, the heroes must unite with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) to forge a new path for the kingdom.

A new front arises with the appearance of Namor (Mexican Tenoch Huerta), a winged-ankle god who rules an ancient underwater civilization called the Talokan and who plans to ally with Wakanda to wipe out the rest of the world.

Directed by ryan cooper and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the cast also Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livanalli.

Inclusive and blockbuster

The Black Panther saga is a faithful reflection of the social and cultural changes that Hollywood has gone through – and the whole world, for that matter – in recent years.

Until recently it was unthinkable that a film with a majority of African-American actors and with female heroines could have the local and international success that accompanied Black Panther: Wakanda Forever On cinemas.

Premiered on November 11, It was the second most-watched film in the United States with a total gross of nearly $440 million.second only to Top Gun: nonconformist (more than US$718 million). Globally, it amassed more than $821 million and was sixth in the same top-grossing chart.

Wakandan forever -the final film of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe- received critical acclaim for the action sequences, direction and for the performances of Wright, Huerta and Bassett.

The sequel received two Golden Globe nominations and six Film Critics Award nominations. While it’s clear that the Marvel tank was designed and built to be seen in theaters, true to these multi-screen times, it can now be seen at home through Disney+.
