After revealing the US lawsuit against Mexican singer Gloria Trevi by two women, several international media this week revealed new details of the litigation, including that there were whippings and rapes by other defendants, the producer Sergio Andrade and a choreographer.
Although the names in the trial against Gloria Trevi were not mentioned in the information released for the first time by the magazine rolling stonesa newly released report details some aspects of the lawsuit.
In the 1990s, the artist and her music producer were sued by other women. And while Sergio Andrade remained in prison, the artist Gloria Trevi was acquitted.
What the lawsuit says
The lawsuit filed states that: “One of the perpetrators is a famous pop star and one of the highest paid artists of Latin America”, while Andrade is described as one of the “most successful” music producers in Mexico, who has acquired wealth and power “thanks to his career, which has given him power and influence over minors”, adds the document. .
Finally, he also speaks of the choreographer as a “dancer and assistant who worked for the other defendants and supported them in their efforts to acquire wealth, status and power”.
To protect their identities, both women have been identified as Jane Doe (a common name by which victims of sex crimes in the United States are identified) and in their complaints they claim that the perpetrators approached them when they were 13 and 15 respectively, as reported by the newspaper not starz.
Jane Doe 1 claims that she met Sergio Andrade at the age of 15 and that it was Gloria Trevi herself who invited her to join her dancers. And she added that the first time she was alone with the producer, he sexually abused her and that he was angry because the girl was friends with the performer’s musicians Old Shoes.
A file with chilling details
“She beat Jane Doe 1 and other young dancers with electric cables until their backs bled”, reads the file. According to the lawsuit, some of the abuses took place in Mexico City, while others took place in California, during the singer’s tours in the neighboring country.
Again according to what was published in the strong complaints, Jane Doe 2 met Andrade and Trevi a few years earlier, in 1989, when she was 13 years old, and like the rest of the victims, very eager to establish herself in the music world.
The woman tells in her story that she attended a casting where she sang and danced; in the second part of the test they asked him to undress.
“Proceedings to befriend plaintiff Jane Doe 2 were preparing her for sexual acts with the accused,” the document says and recalls that when Sergio Andrade abused her she was 13 and he was already 34. And they wanted the producer to fall in love with her.
Of all these allegations of child abuse and corruption, Gloria Trevi pleads not guilty.
