A relationship, understood as a relationship of someone with another person, but non-consensual with one’s partner, mixes usually incompatible emotions. In the love triangle he proposes Clare Denis in with love and furythe characters of Juliette Binoch Y vincenzo lindo they experience it brutally.

Sara (Binoche) is the one maintaining a relationship with her ex again, behind the back of her current partner, Jean (Lindon). It’s not the best, but it’s still a point in question that Francois (Grégoire Colin), who has been her husband for years, is Jean’s best friend.

Sara and Jean have been together for ten years, and have not been in contact with Francois since, but the latter’s phone call to Jean to return to work together in a sports agency triggers the plot.

Because what is Jean to do? Accept the offer, because you need the money, or let it go?

Everything will get complicated when Sara gets back in touch with Francois at the company presentation. Claire Denis pushes Sara and Jean – let’s say that Francois’ character is the least approached – to speak and keep silent, to make decisions when nothing seemed to prevent their common happiness.

It’s curious how this triangular relationship relates to an upcoming premiere (The Fabelmansby Steven Spielberg), in which the character of Michelle Williams has an affair with her husband’s best friend (Seth Rogen and Paul Dano, respectively).

with love and fury (Avec amor et acharnementthat would also be With love and determination or anger) is comprehensive enough that you won’t get stuck in the three fonts. Sara has a radio show in Paris, Jean was a sports star who he had to leave due to an injury, and who has spent time in prison for an undisclosed crime. Jean has a troubled teenage son, Marcus (Issa Perica), who lives with Jean’s mother (Bulle Ogier), several hours away.

Passion difficult to extinguish

the director of nice task Let those feelings, found again, between Sara and Jean, be expressed with vivacity and sometimes even with outings typical of teenagers. Is that passion that Sara feels rekindled towards her ex, is it possible to appease, turn off, forget?

Denis and his co-writer, Christine Angot, the author of the novel on which it’s based, let Sara express herself with a sincerity that rings suicidal for any couple. Sure, Juliette Binoche is capable of convincing with every letter she utters (see the scene where she denies everything to Jean), and Vincent Lindon appeals to move with that fury enclosed in this man’s enormous body with a complex that I don’t know where to go.

How will it be. And probably like any character immersed in the middle of a relationship.
