The singer from Salta Kike Teruel announced his departure from Los Nocheros with a video posted on social networks a few days after his presentation at the traditional National Folklore Festival of Cosquín. Thus ends a relationship that has lasted for more than 30 years.

“There are many rumors about my departure from the Los Nocheros group. And it’s true,” confirmed Cesar Adolfo Teruel, without providing any further details on his departure.

“It’s a great time for me,” the musician said at the start of the Instagram Live with his followers, in which he detailed his decision and denied having had any personal issues related to his departure from the band.

“My colleagues have known about my decision for some time, it’s not from now, we agreed that I would announce it for this date. I’m leaving the group in one of the best moments of my life,” he explained.

So far, not even his brother Mario Teruel – with whom he founded the group almost 30 years ago – nor Álvaro Martín and Rubén Ehizaguirre have yet spoken.

In November 2013 he also announced his departure to take a “gap year” to settle in Spain with his son and crown his temporary farewell with one last show at the Teatro Gran Rex in via Corrientes.

“I always thought about it, but I saw it as impossible because I was always completely involved in my business; but I spoke to the guys at Los Nocheros and told them I needed time, and they said ‘take what you need’ ”he explained at the time .
