Luciana Salazar outraged by the end of a tradition of the Viña del Mar Festival: “Cardboard Progressivism”

Luciana Salazar He made a strong statement on his social media after it emerged that the famous ‘swimming pool’ will be taken down in Viña del Mar International Song Festivalpopularly known as Festival de Viña.

Sunday February 19 will begin what is known as the biggest musical event of the summer in Latin America and there are many artists who will take the stage, such as Tini Stoessel, Emilia Mernes, Rels B, Fito Páez, Karol G, Camilo AND Nicki Nicole.

Due to the pandemic, the last edition was in 2020. And for this year, since the organization of the event, they have made the decision to make several changes, such as the end of some of the traditions that have known how to characterize the Festival.

One of them is that the historic orchestra has been eliminated and there will be no gala. The election of Queen of the Viña del Mar Festivalofficially started in 1982 with the coronation of Raffaella Carrara.

Xuxa, Gloria Trevi, Sofia Vergara, Celia Cruz AND Thalia They were some of the stars who over the years have grabbed the crown of the big event.

But it was Natalia Oriro which introduced a big change in the Festival when, after being elected queen in 2001, she jumped into the pool in the crown and dress.

The “pool” of the actress, who was 24 at the time, became very famous and it became a tradition that all those elected as queens would follow.

The truth is that said the tradition, which had already changed in 2018 when they started choosing queen and king, has come to an end. And Salazar was very upset by this decision and aimed against the organizers of the event.

“How absurd that the pool of the queen of the Viña del Mar Festival is being eliminated”the model said on Twitter.

And he continued: “Cardboard demagoguery and progressivism, when extremes break with traditions that do not touch or offend anyone”.

Who will be at the Festival de Viña 2023

The Viña del Mar International Song Festival will begin next Sunday, February 19, at the Quinta Vergara Amphitheater.

As has already happened on other occasions, in the 62nd edition of the great event, which will end on Friday 24 February, there will be a strong presence of Argentinian artists.

On the 19th the Festival will open with presentations by Karol G and Paloma Mami.

After Maná left the Festival due to an injury to its singer, it was confirmed that Tini Stoessel will replace the Mexican group. The interpreter of La Triple T will sing on February 20th. Emilia Mernes will also be there that day.

On Tuesday 21, the public will be able to enjoy the presentations of Alejandro Fernández and Los Jaivas. Wednesday 22nd of music by Fito Páez and Rels B.

An international star will take to the stage of the Festival on Thursday 23rd: none other than Christina Aguilera. Polimá Westcoast will also sing.

Friday 24, the closing will be entrusted to Camilo and Nicki Nicole.
