Difficult clinical diagnosis of Bruce Willis: he suffers from frontotemporal dementia

Last March, Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder caused by a brain damage that affects the ability to communicate a person’s speaking, writing and understanding of language, both verbal and written.

Since the northern spring of 2022, however, the actor’s condition has worsened. “Unfortunately, the communication problems are just a symptom of the disease Bruce is dealing with. While this is painful, it’s a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” his relatives explained.

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a “cruel disease that many of us have never heard of and that can affect anyone,” they described in the statement, in which they thanked the many expressions of “love and compassion” they have received since last year.

“Today there is no cure for the disease, a reality that we hope will change in the coming years. As Bruce’s condition progresses, we hope that media attention can be focused on shedding light on this disease which needs much more awareness and research.”, they added with a ray of hope on the star of Die Hard, pulp Fiction, no city AND The fifth element.

Additionally, they said, “Bruce has always believed in using his voice to help others and raise awareness of important issues both publicly and privately. We know in our hearts that, If I could today, I would like to respond by attracting everyone’s attention and a connection to those also dealing with this debilitating disease and how it affects so many people and their families.”

The statement bears the signature of his current wife, Emma Heming; his ex-wife, Demi Moore; and their five daughters, Rumer (34), Tallulah (29), Scout (31), Evelyn (8) and Mabel (10).
