On its second day, El Cosquín Rock summoned 120 thousand people to enjoy a large number of artists on a sunny Sunday, thus exceeding its capacity compared to Saturdays.
Another difference from the previous day was that the “heavy” rock artists started their sets much earlier: in front of the south stage there was a crowd waiting for his appearance. fit country on stage.
When this happened, it was possible to observe through the screen cameras that most of the public passed halfway through the airfield in order not to miss any detail of the Rosary performance, which gave a memorable concert in Santa María de Punilla.
Fito wanted more time
Dressed in a sporty way, betting on fluorescent yellow, Fito Páez broke through Love after love. His concert has not completely clashed with what he proposes from 2022, although he has added musical milestones to his list as 11 and 6, Traffic through Kathmandu AND city of poor heartsamong others.
The surprise was his current showgirl. Emmadaughter of Lito Vitale and Verónica Condomí, she played a considerable role, certainly accompanying Páez in the choirs, also officiating as vocal support in different sections of the concert.
At first Fito seemed to have a good demeanor, but as the songs went on he denoted a bad mood. First, he stated the following: “It’s our first concert of the year. We come wanting to eat them! But we only have one hour and peak concert”.
Subsequently, presumably annoyed by the resonance of the Northern stage, he publicly expressed his discontent. “I want to apologize to colleagues there. Because if he knew they were playing, he waited. We don’t want to interrupt the beautiful music there, ”he joked.
However, as the songs went on, his mood changed and he even got into it salt petal to remembered Louis Alberto Spinetta.
From 11 and 6 analyzed something important that did not go unnoticed: “This music is contagious with the genetics of rap and trap. It is an elegant song that is part of a general culture and real life”.
At the same time, on the other side of the venue, the protagonists were the members Grandpa’s pills. Antagonistic audience, even when the sun lit up the entire immense space where the festival was taking place. Páez alluded to this “pillbox” band, as his own audience calls them, when he complained, although his annoyance was indirectly directed at the festival organizers.
On the Las Pastillas side there was a slightly younger audience than Fito’s. However, Fito was the one who generated the biggest draw of the daySunday, even though it was still early.
Despite an endless list of emerging artists betting on pop, the main referents of the date were Emmanuel Horvilleur e Babasonicos. Each with their own characteristics, although the public had similarities both in anger at the swing sound and in the way they dressed: they had a modern and refined look.
Emmanuel and his glamor was not new, despite being showy: he wore a light hat and a jacket with matching trousers: black with white stripes. Even if the reversals of the radio hits he likes Your sister, Crazy Love OR Radio.
Unlike the former Illya Kuryaki who played on the Boomerang stage, Babasónicos brought together a significant amount of audience which leaves almost no space to be able to comfortably enjoy his oily concert.
The Dárgelos Band and company performed on the Montaña stage, whose audience capacity was not as large as that of the North or South stages, whose congregation was throughout the property.
The vocalist, extravagant as usual, appeared on the scene with a rope tied like a scarf on his forehead. Then it was a cascade of hits that are part of Babasónicos hit albums such as Jessica, Infamous, Seismic romance or his latest work titled Trenchwhich they presented a few months ago at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires.
Adrián Dárgelos, of few words, succeeded only in formality when addressing his people. “Good evening, Cosquín, thank you very much. How nice to see them up close”, he expressed with a marked smile on his face.
The trap is here to stay
Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso, one of the most interesting bets of today’s youth, bore a resemblance to that of Illya Kuryaki. This back-and-forth between the two singers has noticeable influences from another era, but with modern-day nods. The truth is that these singers who set the pulse of youth are today at their peak.
Instead, the rockiest trap of the festival was awarded Dilloma boy born in the Colegiales district of Buenos Aires who today is the fundamental link of a whole movement that is linked to the most crude and visceral society of the marginalized.
His lyrics are the faithful representation of high-voltage street stories. He also has a rock band that plays trap, but with a different cadence than the rest of the local scene. Perhaps the closest to the gangster trap, that of the black neighborhoods of the United States.
As known, Dillom has a bittersweet history within his family environment: When the boy was just fifteen years old, his mother had a complicated problem with the police.
Besides that, the young man has a particular character on stage. Impossible not to pay attention to his music: precise guitars, a bass that cuts strings with power and precision, surprising arrangements help his work not to go unnoticed.
Dillom is a ragamuffin, but the rock he sucked up from his predecessors shines through even in his clothes: He wore a sleeveless jacket with the logo of the remembered punk rock band The Ramones on the back.
Ciro and a proposal that didn’t quite work
Across the airfield, people were eager to see Cyrus and the Persians. However, the show offered by the former Los Piojos was rather out of tune with the many proposals offered by this varied Sunday festival.
Ciro bet on the presentation of his songs accompanied by a philharmonic from the Cordovan city of Villa María. In other words, he was in charge of presenting him his latest dish, which recorded with the Mendoza Symphony.
Sometimes, such solemnity made some of its own audience impatient. Despite this, the classics of Los Piojos were not lacking and things have more or less settled down, even if not up to the musical stakes in general. On the other hand, she only had one guest: he billed her as La José. He was a singer from Mendoza, who duetted with the vocalist from El Palomar.
Late at night it was difficult to traverse the entire property to quickly reach the music that was playing from the different stages.
On the north side, the expert band Airbag gave a recital which was greatly applauded by their fans. The band also dared to make covers kiss to kiss, by the king of the quartet, Mona Jiménez. They have been well received by the locals of Cordoba. “Tonight he roasted, little lamb, everything …”, said Patricio Sardelli, in his eagerness to put the learned people in his pocket. And he reaches for it.
Amidst so much music and so much public constantly moving from one side to the other as if it were a flock, the recital by the Uruguayans of The candle of the sowappealing to their emblematic songs, such as zafar, chiaroscuro, The old AND It’s about to clear up. Impossible for that sound expression to fail. Applause in unison from the north side of the stage.
The Balls and the salvation of Daffunchio
Almost like the blink of an eye, it was forty minutes past midnight. The final rock finishing touch was left in the hands of the ballswho have been playing locally for years, because in Córdoba they are loved.
Germán Daffunchio knows it, he even expressed it to his audience: “Nobody wants to play at the end of the festival. Nobody wants to close. But Las Pelotas is there, because it knows you’re there,” he remarked with confidence.
The former Sumo group was different from what everyone knew.
The incorporation of Gaspar, son of the vocalist, as a stable guitaristhas changed an important role in the ball machine.
Today, Germán is no longer fully involved in rhythm guitar, as marked by the long history of his rock band.
There is currently another Daffunchio, who plays the guitar and shows himself as a singer. At the close of the festival, he went wild in such a way that he even dared to walk on a catwalk in the audience, sat on a stage, sang for the audience looking into their eyes and even allowed himself to pretend to sing the hottest songs linked to the heart of the excellent bassist Gabriela Martínez.
After a cascade of well-known songs, sixteen in total, the finishing touch was a triplet with move, happy days AND Captain America. The Las Pelotas show was up to the task and the audience was delighted.
After their precise performance, everyone left Cosquín Rock 2023 smiling, which turned out to be a resounding success. Probably the most successful in its long history. And not only in terms of attendance: the streaming that could be seen on the Flow platform had it more than 150 thousand views over the weekend.
