The Berlinale surrenders to Steven Spielberg, who receives the Golden Golden Bear

The Berlinale surrendered unconditionally today a Steven SpielbergGolden Bear of Honor of this edition of the festival, who traveled to the German capital expressing a mixture of intelligence, humanity and simplicity unusual in cinema.

“I must have done something right in my life if I’m here, in front of you, receiving the award for my whole career from one of the best film festivals in the world,” Spielberg replied, in front of a packed press room, at the question of How did you feel at that precise moment?

The American director has done more than fulfill his duty to be grateful. He agreed to answer “a few more questions”, after the time set for his press conference and when the moderator -Rainer Rother, head of the festival Retrospective- had closed his shift.
