It was the most watched film of 2022 in Argentina and is now available for streaming. This is not the time, time, or place to discuss who is cuter, or more delightfully silly, Gru or his yellow minions called Minions. Especially since we are watching a movie called Minions: A villain is bornthat is, it includes both, and mostly because the discussion is meaningless.
Seven years after the premiere of the prequel (minion2015) and five of the last of the saga -la flojita despicable me 3-, if we’ve learned anything, it’s that Minions can exist without Gru, but the villain who wants to take over the world (or at least at first, steal the moon) needs them.
It needs that army of small, obedient, obedient characters, including Kevin, Stuart, and Bob, who look like earplugs.
If they haven’t yet learned who’s which, or what the tallest or one-eyed is called, that doesn’t stop them from considering themselves fans of Gru’s minions. So they are not bad with the boys: the tall and thin one is Kevin, the one-eyed one is Stuart and Bob is the one with attention deficit. Please.
It was presumable that Gru, already as a boy, was what we could define as an enfant terrible. Here he is 11 years old and when they ask him at school what they want to be when they grow up, what career to have, he says “I want to be a super-villain!”.
We already know it will achieve it, the question here is how it arrives at what it becomes.

Minions: A villain is born It has so many silly, simple and mostly visual gags, making it suitable not only for family viewing but also for recovering the sense of fun and play. Because the Minions help Gru achieve his goal in the best possible way (he wants to join the gang of supervillains Vicious Six).
Gru has his own room (of course he still lives with his mother) which shows his devotion to the Vicious Six. But something happened that she doesn’t know about.
When the six go to steal the Zodiac Stone in the jungle, Belle abandons Wild Knuckles (the character of which Gru is her biggest fan). That’s why a vacancy opens up in the group, and that’s where our little anti-hero goes, to a kind of open audition for evildoers. There are those who read the magazine Crazy (we are in the mid-70s; and there will be references to Sharkdisco music and even Close encounters of the third kind).
Obviously they don’t accept Gru, but he takes advantage of it and steals the Stone. From there, he’s free-for-all, chasing each other (Knuckles, who isn’t dead, included), adding an acupuncturist who will teach the Minions the secrets of kung-fu.
So this sequel of minions is, at the same time, another prequel to My favorite villain. And, of course, the film introduces characters who then explode more and better in the original. My favorite villain. We’ve already mentioned Gru’s mom, and add the mad scientist, Dr. Nefario, Vector, and Bank of Evil himself.
It’s that humor that suited him so well in the first 15 minutes of minions what recovers Minions: A villain is born. Whether or not it will have a sequel and/or a prequel is very probable, because at a certain point the three little orphans of My bad… they should regenerate. Or not?
