What more usually has a film centered on an (ex) boxer, who has already offered not one but two sagas. Let’s talk about the original rockyand of believe, which with today’s premiere is in its third film. And there will definitely be more fights in the cinema.

well this Creed III has its leading man, Michael B. Jordan, also making his directorial debut. And to the initial question, what more can be contributed to the saga, the artist answered with everything. Or rather, by far, that it’s not the same thing.

Because the script, in which Ryan Coogler, director of the first believe and of the two Black PantherMaybe it covers too much. And let’s not talk about the timelines: there are so many characters with their own stories to tell and Jordan takes care of giving space to all of them in 116 minutes.

One is central, and its protagonist is Damian “Dame” Anderson (Jonathan Majors, the new Marvel villain, seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania). Adonis Creed’s friend since he was a boy, to the point that the younger one runs away from home one night to accompany him to the Golden Gloves fight in Los Angeles, where they live. It is clear that Damian wants more, he dreams of the world title.

The followers of the saga know who took it (Creed, son of Apollo Creed, the one who beat Balboa in the first rocky) and, if they haven’t seen the trailer, they can still smell the blood flowing in a ring, and it will be from the two friends in the future that will be the present.

Tessa Thompson (from the series "Westworld" and "Men in Black: International") as Bianca, the wife of Adonis.

While Damian’s story unfolds slowly – there was a confusing episode that night, and he ended up in prison for 18 years – when Damian gets out of prison he meets Adonis.

Accounts pending

Have you seen that there are people who have unfinished business? Well, it’s a gift that Adonis, who is retired from the ring but coaches a new generation, never visited his friend during the 18 years that he spent in his sentence.

The film goes, as if from round to round, balancing (or not achieving that stability) between Creed and Damian’s character and life differences. You learned that control is basic and fundamental. Another understands, and life has led him to this, that strength is everything, or almost.

Evil x 2. Jonathan Majors is going through his prime: he released "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and now "Creed III".

Creed III perhaps it’s overextended, or becomes too long, because it packs more in than it compresses. It has violent fights, there is an excellent choreography in the fights and even in the training with the sparring partners, but also many secondary characters, who come and go, and what we said at the beginning: the daughter, the wife (Tessa Thompson) and Adonis’ adoptive mother (who is the illegitimate child of Apollo Creed and his wife adopted him in the first film), for example, have their own subplot.

The best thing is the chemistry between Adonis and Damian. Here are two very good interpreters with precise slogans.
