And it is a fact. At the Palace they would prefer the news not to spread, but more and more big names in music are turning down invitations to play at the coronation of King Carlos III.

The list includes (for now) figures of the stature of Adele, Elton John, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Robbie Williams and the Spice Girls. Will the signings continue?

On May 7, after the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, a concert will be held at Windsor Castle. Last week, it was reported that Sheeran was the first to say no.

The explanation for the failure? That the day before the leader of the English charts does a show in Texas, in the United States.

Adele and Robbie Williams also declined the invitation for similar reasons, with Elton John claiming he couldn’t make it on time due to a concert in Germany.

Elton’s “no”.

A source close to the palace said: ‘Elton John was high on Charles’ list but due to his European tour, which he will be performing in Germany on the Friday before and shortly after the Windsor concert, he can’t make that happen. rush to UK works”.

The source added that “the organizers are working around the clock to put together an exciting lineup” in reaction to the further rejections.

It should be remembered that Elton John eA close friend of the late Princess Diana, Lady Dianaand that he even sang Candle in the Wind at his funeral, with lyrics adapted to the sad situation.

And the (negative) signatures continue.

Harry Styles and the Spice Girls have also said their busy schedules prevent them from performing.

And just as they add up jan-o, there are also those who would like to be, but they haven’t been invited yet. It is the case of Take thatwho kept the May 7 date free on his tour in case the phone rang at the King’s.

They will join Kylie and Dannii Minogue, as well as Lionel Richie and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Doubt about the final poster

New artists are now expected to appear for the event in the coming weeks.

Not even the Spice Girls can sing at the coronation of Carlos III.

“We are contacting the biggest names and acts in world music for the concert,” said another source, a pious way of saying “we measure up!” Expressions, of course, foreign to the world of royalty (at least fewer doors outside the palace).

When asked the source about which “names and shows” one can expect, after the rejection of the mega stars already made public, he did not clarify much, on the contrary, he gave a wide-ranging answer:

“Well, I can’t give details with first and last names. But if we put together a list with the most important shows in the world in the last 30 years, then they are all taken into consideration”.

The show airs on the BBC, one day after the king’s coronation, and is expected to garner huge ratings, albeit short of heavier names.

The coronation concert promises to “bring together music icons and contemporary stars to celebrate this historic occasion.” It will feature an orchestra playing “interpretations of favorite pieces of music,” led by artists and performers from the worlds of dance and the arts.

“As far as the artist lineup for the coronation concert, I still wouldn’t panic,” said Christopher Andersen, author of The king.

“Joss Stone is friends with the younger royals and can usually be counted on,” she shared. “There’s also a long list of American pop stars eager to act.”, he argued in statements reproduced by Fox.

Could it be Madonna?

“You’d be crazy not to ask Madonna, who has a huge 40th anniversary tour this summer, and I’m sure she wouldn’t mind the chance to perform for the king,” said Andersen.

The royal expert believes the chance to sing on an historic occasion such as this should not be discounted: ‘It is highly doubtful that anyone would turn down an invitation to perform at the coronation… It is a singular historical moment and, frankly, , also a great concert!”
