As we have previously announced Damiano SzifronDirector of wild talesreturned to directing, with a film shot entirely in the United States and produced in Hollywood.
The news is that Misanthropeas the film is titled, it already has a release date. It will be Thursday 4 May in Argentina and Latin Americaand will be distributed by Diamond Films.
Creator of the legendary series the simulators -whose film, with the same characters from the series that Telefe was broadcasting at the time and is available on Netflix, is in the pre-production stage-, winner of the BAFTA as best international film for wild taleswhich is the highest-grossing Argentine film in history, Szifron co-wrote the screenplay, along with Briton Jonathan Wakeham (Midas manfilm in pre-production, forthcoming, with Emily Watson, from Against all odds).
Shailene Woodley (protagonist of Little big lies, Under the same star, Divergent AND The descendantswhere we saw her in the role of George Clooney’s daughter) is the protagonist of this thriller, which in the United States bears the title of To catch a killer (I would be catch a killer) with Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,RReady Player One, Robin Hood and the Netflix series bloodline).
The plot
Baltimore, New Years. A ferocious attack by a single man leaves a death toll of 29 and no clues. Eleanor Falco (Shailene Woodley), a secretive but talented low-ranking cop, is recruited by FBI Special Agent Geoffrey Lammark (Ben Mendelsohn) to join the team tasked with identifying and apprehending the killer.
Misanthrope is a word that derives from the Greek mīsos (hate) and ānthropos (man). It is someone who feels rejection or distrust of the human species. In extreme cases, misanthropy has led to mass murder.

The film is produced by Aaron Ryder, Stuart Manashil, stars Shailene Woodley and Damián Szifron himself, is directed by Javier Juliá, with whom Szifron has already worked wild tales and also illuminated Argentina, 1985by Santiago Mitra.
The original soundtrack bears the signature of the legendary and today nominated for an Oscar for the soundtrack of the spirits of the islandthe New Yorker Carter Burwell -already nominated for the Hollywood Academy Award for the music of Carol and 3 commercials for a crime-, regular composer of the Coen brothers’ films, such as Barton Fink, Fargo, the big Lebowski and the Academy Award for Best Picture There is no place for wimps.
It has production design by Jason Kisvarday, nominated this year for the All everywhere at the same timecostumes by Aieisha Li (The bankerwith Anthony Mackie; Tullywith Charlize Theron) and sound direction was handled by Sylvain Bellemare, another Academy Award winner, for the sound of the arrival.
