Hours before the start of the 95th Academy Awards, Santiago Mitra, director of “Argentina, 1985” -nominated for Best International Film- shared a message on your social networks in which he once again thanked La Academia for its recognition and shared What do you think of the impact of your film?
He did so with a post on his I accountInstagram in which he published A Photo album of the feature film that sounds like one of the nominees in the category that awards foreign productions.
In it, in addition to being proud of the awards obtained, he too made the point about what caused the related story and thanked especially to the Argentinian public.
“Whatever happens, Sunday is going to be a great day for all of us who made ‘Argentina, 1985′”, the screenwriter also began writing hours after appearing on the red carpet in Los Angeles.
And he stressed: “Cinema is not sport, it is narrativeand this film that recounts this fact so important for our country, for democracy, for justice, for the stories related to memory, will remain forever“.
Although the film has been recognized all over the world, Miter has dedicated a special paragraph to Argentine viewers who, in addition to praising the product, have filled the cinemas making this exceed one million viewers. Something that hasn’t happened with a national film for more than two years.
“All that has been accomplished: full halls in Argentina, the interest it has aroused in young peopleand in parts of the world where they didn’t know that part of our history, which will remain forever,” wrote the director about it.
Towards the end of his message, he opened up to his followers and shared his feelings about the success of his work, starring Ricardo Darín and Peter Lanzani.

Already on the red carpet, to which he went accompanied by his wife the actress Dolores FonziSantiago Miter spoke about the importance of “Argentina, 1985” at the Oscars.
Talking to the press, he told how the idea for the film came about and launched a message on democracy.
“I started this film thinking about the importance of justice and the importance of justice as a power to consolidate democracy. And I think that’s very important in these times,” she said.
And he added, citing Latin America: “We saw it in 1985 in Argentina, but now we continue to see it here, for what happened on January 6 in Brazil and in many places where the anti-democratic discourse is growing“.
He finally concluded: “To talk about democracy is to talk about freedom. So it’s something important these days”.
