The feature will portray an emotional story through Houston’s top songs
The biopic of Whitney HoustonAmerican music icon, named after one of the singer’s best-known hits, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, had an unprecedented poster released on Twitter, this Monday (25).
“Don’t you want to dance?”joked the studio in the caption with a snippet of the song. “Whitney Houston, the greatest voice, has an even greater story”, continued. Check out the new poster printed by Naomi Ackie (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”), which will live Houston in the plot:

Directed by Kasi Lemmons (“Harriet”) and scripted by Anthony McCartenOscar nominee for the hit “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” will take audiences on an exciting journey through the career and music of Whitney Houston, who died in February 2012 after being found dead in a hotel room in Beverly Hills. According to the media, the cause came from an accidental drowning in a bathtub due to excessive drug use.
The feature film will also be produced by Pat Houston, Clive Davis, Larry Mestel, denis O’Sullivan, Jeff Kalligheri and Matt Jackson. Already Molly Smith, Trent, Thad Luckinbill, Rachel Smith, Seth Spector and Stella Meghie assume the role of executive producers.
Ashton Sandersfrom “Moonlight: Under the Moonlight”, was cast just last year to play Bobby Brownthe singer’s ex-husband.
The movie “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” is set to hit theaters on December 23, 2022.
