The cast includes Charles Dance, Meta Golding, Enid Graham, Jason Butler Harner, Walt Klink and Rob Yang.

The series was co-created by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, who previously directed the films. I love you Philip Morris AND Stupid, crazy love, besides writing bad santa claus.

“I’m a big fan of thrillers”

Connected via Zoom, Kiefer Sutherland is friendly and open-minded, beyond the logical limits of total talk time, as he is in the midst of a marathon of promotional interviews with media from around the world.

Faced with the inevitable question about Argentina, he replies: “I’ve never been there, but I’d like to go. I know it’s a beautiful country.”

-What did you like about this project when they contacted you?

-I’m a big fan of thrillers, as a genre. I’ve always liked those characters 24, and I agreed when I was approached by screenwriters Johnny Requa and Glenn Ficarra, who wrote one of my favorite screenplays of the last 20 years, Bad Santa. They also directed Stupid, crazy lovewhich I really enjoyed and admired the balance between comedy and drama.

Was it enough for you to say yes?

-For all these reasons, when we talked about doing something together, I was obviously very interested. And when they described how they wanted to make the series, emulating similar films The three days of the condor, the death marathon, all the president’s men AND The last witness in SpainThey were all films that I saw as a child and that made me dream of doing something similar.

So between his descriptions, the genre itself and how he envisioned the character, I was excited to be a part of the project. And when I saw the final script, it amazed me how complex and well-balanced everything they told me in the first meeting was. From there I couldn’t wait to start filming.

“I’m not trying to stand out”

-Was it an intense or relaxed shot? Bah, he’s never relaxed, is he?

-It’s funny that you say he’s never relaxed, because it was the most relaxed thing I’ve ever seen. when we were doing 24For exampleit took 7 1/2 days to shoot one chapter, or 15 days to make two. We were very efficient and worked 12 hour days, but we were always on schedule. While inside Rabbit hole we had 9-10 days for each episode, so from my point of view it was pretty relaxed.

Also, John and Glenn are two very very relaxed guys. You’re the only one who asked, so I tell you I was always waiting for the bullfights to start, but there weren’t any. That’s how they work

-How do you and your agent choose a project: are they looking to distance themselves from the previous one or do they have no problem repeating the style or type of character?

-In this case the character is very different from Jack Bauer, for example, and I love thrillers, as I said before. I wouldn’t stop doing a drama just because I’ve already done a drama. I’m not trying to stand out and that doesn’t bother me. I feel the characters are dynamically very different. Even the world we live in is different in the context of both series, if we talk about it 24 AND Rabbit hole. Can’t wait for people to see it!
