After his arrest, Jonathan Majors’ lawyer says actor is ‘innocent’ and ‘probably the victim’

The defense attorney of Jonathan Major says the actor is “completely innocent” and “probably the victim” after him was arrested Saturday in Manhattan and charged with assault and harassmentin what the New York Police Department described as a “domestic dispute”.

“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and it is likely that you are the victim of an altercation with a woman you knowsays criminal defense attorney Priya Chaudhry. “We are rapidly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped shortly.”

A representative for Majors denied the allegations. “He hasn’t done anything wrong,” his publicist told him varietyE. “We hope to clear his name and clear everything up.” Majors, a rising star of Hollywood, recently appeared Creed III AND Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania. She has also received praise for Dreams magazine, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Searchlight Pictures. It will be out on December 8th.

Attorney Chaudhry goes on to say that there is video footage of the vehicle in which the alleged accident occurred, testimony from the driver and witnesses, and two written statements from the woman retracting the allegations. “All the evidence shows that Mr. Majors is completely innocent and he didn’t attack her at all,” he said.

“Unfortunately, this incident happened because this woman was going through an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and that is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We hope these charges are dropped soon.”

Chaudhry’s statement provides more information about the incident. NYPD said they responded to a 911 call at a Chelsea apartment. Majors, 33, was taken into custody without incident on Saturday night. The unidentified victim, a 30-year-old woman, was later taken to hospital with “minor head and neck injuries,” according to authorities.

The police statement listed strangulation, assault and stalking as possible chargesbut was ultimately charged with two counts of assault in the third degree, attempted assault in the third degree, aggravated stalking in the second degree, and stalking in the second degree, each of which is a felony or misdemeanor.

The army eliminated him from his campaign

Separately, the U.S. military halted its ad campaign featuring Jonathan Majors in response to the actor’s arrest on Saturday.

The two commercials of Be all that you can be (I Know All You Can Be) with Majors as on-screen narrator were pulled on Sunday. The US Army plans to continue running more ads in the campaign, maintaining a digital presence and prominent position in NCAA March Madness tournament broadcasts. Advertisements featuring Majors were still running during the NCAA Saturday night broadcasts.

“The United States Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest,” Laura, public affairs chief for the Army’s Office of Business Marketing, confirmed in a statement. .From Francisco.

“We recently ran two ads featuring Mr. Majors. While Majors is innocent until proven guilty, we are prudent to remove our ads until these allegations are investigated.”
