Tom Hardy Returns as Lead in New Venom Film

“Venom: A Time for Carnage” is available on HBO Max – Publicity/Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures announced at CinemaCon 2022, an event aimed at media and theater owners, that the third “Venom” movie is in the works.

In 2021, when the second film, “Venom: A Time for Carnage,” hit theaters, the production company Amy Pascal had already given indications that the film would get another sequel. Despite the news, the studio did not reveal the title or the premiere date of the project.

Directed by Andy Serkisthe second film grossed over $200 million at the box office in North America, one of the biggest hits after theaters reopened due to the pandemic.

It is worth remembering that the post-credits scene of “Venom: Time of Carnage” promises to unite the universe of the anti-hero of Tom Hardy with the third Spider-Man movie lived by Tom Holland. During the event, the studio also confirmed a new movie from the Peter Parker universe, “El Muerto”, about the famous comic book fighter. Juan Carlos Estrada Santoswhich opens in theaters on January 12, 2024.
