Charles G. gave an interview and made a photographic production for the renowned GQ magazine, however the Colombian singer was not at all satisfied with the published photos and assured that they made several digital retouches without her consent.
For this reason, Karol G has released a disclaimer on his Instagram account, where he accumulates more than 61 million followers, and clarified his position.
“I don’t even know where to start this message… Today the cover of my GQ magazine went public, a cover with an image that does NOT represent me”began the creator of the themes Bichota, Tusa and Provenceamong many successes, in its publication.
And he continued to express his discomfort: “My face doesn’t look like that, my body doesn’t look like that, and I’m very happy and comfortable with my natural look.”
“I appreciate Opportunity magazine because I was very happy when they confirmed I would be there, but despite clarifying my disagreement with the number of edits they made to the photo, they did nothing about it, like you need all those changes to look good”added the one born in Medellín, Colombia, 32 years ago.
“I understand the repercussions this can have, but besides feeling it’s disrespectful to me, it’s disrespectful to women that every day we wake up trying to feel good about ourselves despite the stereotypes of society”, concluded Karol G.
Quickly, the publication filled with likes and thousands of comments from his followers, who supported the artist.
“La chimba !!! You have a very long and long process to show the world that if you can feel comfortable in your body without having to give in to media pressure, you must not give in right now, much less remain silent in front of something that doesn’t represent you. I love you forever and I’m very proud of you,” wrote his colleague Daiky Gamboa.
“What a final straw! With how beautiful you are, you don’t even need IG’s Paris”, “My queen, you have taken beauty to a point where you don’t even notice how it looks because you are already the most beautiful in the world for one”“Queeen. You don’t need anything!”, and “You are and you are beautiful. You don’t need filters or edits”, were some of the many supportive comments Karol G received in her publication.
