25 years celebrating music

The Gardel Awards They had their first edition in 1999, in a gala hosted by Jorge Guinzburg and with only 5 categories. In that year Sandro was the artist to obtain the first Gardel de Oro in history.

Since then, the award has accompanied the great development of Argentine music for more than 20 years, incorporating new elements and constantly updating itself.

In 2020 the categories that were divided by gender were unifiedleaving behind the segmentation of male/female artists.

In recent galas, international artists have also started to be included in the musical performances (Anitta, Carlos Rivera, Pablo Alborán, Lila Downs), in a clear sign of growth of the award which (positioned as the most important in the country) seeks to expand its borders to reach new audiences.
