The beginning of each strip forces the viewer to be attentive to the presentation of the new characters, in order not to lose the thread of the plot, even more so if it is a choral story, such as that of Argentina, land of love and revenge (ATAV2)recently released on the screens of El Trece.
In Polka’s fiction there are many crossings between the characters, which are many and, moreover, they are connected with those of the previous season, the action of which took place 50 years ago. Thus, a map is needed to distinguish who’s Who in this second part.
With the first season of ATAV located in the 30s and this second, in the late 70s and mainly in the 80s, the telenovela invites you to build a sort of genealogical tree between the Moretti and Salvat familieswho had acted in the first part, at least to give more sense to this beginning of the plot.
Where do they come from (and where do they go)
In ATAV1Aldo Moretti and Raquel Zimmerman, the Pole, interpreted by Gonzalo Heredia and China Suarezthey also had their own offspring Bruno Salvat and Lucia Morelinterpreted by the Spaniards Albert Baró and Delfina Chávez. Skipping a generation in between, inside ATAV2 his nephews, nieces and other relatives appear.
Ana Perez Moretti (Justina Bustos) She is the granddaughter of La Polaca and Aldo Moretti. Ana is a single mother and, desperate to lose their job and with their son in need of medical attention, she meets the brothers Hills, dedicated to show business. They offer her a job as a lookout in a revue theatreeven if he has no stage experience.
Anita’s story has several poles: one is the connection (which you will discover later) between the hills with Samuel Trauman (Fernán Mirás in the first season), who he had been her grandmother’s sexual exploiter. The other will be her love story with Charly Lombardo (Nacho Di Marco), the great axis of the soap opera.
Rafael Machado (Federico D’Elia) He is a doctor who works at the military hospital, is married to Sara and has three children: Segundo, Luján and Alejo. His strict morality will confront him with homosexuality de Antonio and his seemingly perfect life will have many disappointments.
His daughter suffers gender-based violence and his youngest son (Alejo) dies during the Malvinas War. Rafael is also secretly in love with Silvia, the wife of his friend Pedro Salvat (Rafael Ferro), will show his darker side by being an accomplice in his disappearance while she was pregnant.
Antonio Salvat (Toni Gelabert) He is a journalist and writer and inherited his rebellion from his grandmother Lucía. As a teenager, during the last military dictatorship, he had to go into exile in Spain with his father, Pedro, and after several years in Barcelona, they returned to Argentina.
Return, Antonio will discover that his mother, Silvia, is a missing person, but also that he had a daughter while in captivity. His obsession will be to find that sister. On the other hand, she will see his teenage friend, Segundo, with whom she will rekindle a love story, which will have much opposition due to their sexual orientation.
According to Machado (Tato Quattordio), son of doctor Rafael Machado, is in love with his best friend, Antonio, but the conservative position of his family prevents him from living it fully and so he plans to marry his girlfriend, Pilar, according to the mandate imposed by his father and mother, Sara.
Francisco Alarcón (Federico Amador) It is a doctor who begins to gather in the hospital where he works, a sector of care for people with HIV. But this has to be done secretly by Rafael Machado, the director, who opposes the project. On the other hand, in addition to his struggle to help patients with the newly discovered virus, Francisco will experience a no less complicated love story.
Alarcón will fall in love with Luján, Machado’s daughter, who will involve him in many problems since, in addition to being married, the woman suffers gender-based violence from her partner.
Lujan Machado (Belen Chavanne) She is a radiologist who, in turn, is Rafael’s daughter. She is married to Tolo (Alan Daicz) she is a victim of gender violence by her husband. In a social context where the subject was still taboo, she will suffer in silence and take refuge in Francisco. But the intense clandestine romance won’t be easy either.
Ricardo Hills (Dario Barassi) He is a revue theater comedian reminiscent of the genre comedians of the 80s, in the style of Jorge Porcel. The character of him is a successful and pedantic comedian who, in front of the public, does well but, behind the scenes, acts on the whims of a star. His manager is his brother Horacio.
Horacio Hills (Juan Gil Navarro) He is his brother Ricardo’s theatrical representative (presumably inspired by the Sofovich brothers) and who offers Ana Moretti to work as a lookout. His profile is apparently that of a generous man, but his family background is sinister: he and his brother are nephews of Samuel Trauman, the cafisho of La Polaca, grandmother of Ana, in ATAV1.
Monica Villalobos (Andrea Rincon) He is the star of the moment, a sort of recreation of Moria Casán. The girl shines in the genre, but she has to live with the eccentricities of the lead comedian Ricardo Hills, jealous of her starring role. In addition, Villalobos represents women who have gone through the theater and magazine they had to put up with the machismo of their peers of cast.
A curious fact is that Andrea Rincon participated ATAV1with a role that has nothing to do with the current one. In the first season, the actress played Pirucha, a cousin of the Morettis who was third in the running between Córdoba (Diego Domínguez) and Ana (Candela Vetrano).
Sara Machado (Gloria Carra) She is the wife of doctor Rafael Machado, a very prejudiced woman who looks like a villain (or one of the many that the soap opera will have). She exerts a lot of pressure on her children, wanting to impose her will to maintain the “good family” ways and patterns.
In addition, Silvia Sosa (Julieta Díaz), Pedro Salvat’s missing wife forced to give birth in a clandestine detention center, and Luisa (Virginia Lago), her mother who joins the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, have special participations. to ask where Silvia is. Silvia Kutica, on the other hand, will appear in the role of La Polaca, fifty years later ATAV1.
