In yesterday’s Thursday broadcast of MasterChef Argentina (Telefe, at 10.30pm), Germán Martitegui was outraged to see Wanda Nara trying to help participant Candelaria Sorini solve a problem with a clean knife. Without turning around, the chef who is part of the jury together with Donato de Santis and Damián Betular ran towards the driver and finally stopped her: “Violence leads nowhere, Wanda,” he said.

The context in which this situation occurred was as follows. Participants had the challenge of preparing their own dishes, demonstrating that they are able to adapt to sudden changes, handle unexpected events without despairing, and have the flexibility to look for alternatives when for some reason what was originally planned cannot be accomplished.

In this framework, the cooks had to insert in their preparations the surprise ingredient that would be revealed to them once they opened a box closed by a padlock whose code was the result of a mathematical calculation that they had to solve.

The use of the ingredient that was inside the house was mandatory. Everyone ran to choose one of the boxes and once they had it in their hands, they read the corresponding mathematical calculation and solved it to obtain a number which was the code for the lock.

Unlike his peers, Candelaria got bogged down during addition and subtraction -they weren’t difficult, among other things- which would have allowed him to obtain the number with which he could have opened the lock.

When the first bell rang, the participant got help from her partner Rodrigo Salcedo. However, he failed to overcome the difficulty. “Wanda, come help me,” she yelled in despair when she saw that she was unable to reckon.

The moment Martitegui lost his patience with Wanda Nara

Far from helping her with addition and subtraction, seeing Candelaria so confused, Wanda yelled at her to open the box with a knife and forget the lock.

The jury did not like that proposal for a presenter at all and did not spare the comment that she seemed the worst in the class to give advice. And they accused her of being “a bad influence.”

At the second buzzer, Vanda He took the bull by the horns: he went to the station where Candelaria was, he got himself a huge knife and cut the box to pieces.

At that point, Germán Martitegui lost his temper. While Wanda continued to hold the knife and give life and soul to the box, without being able to open it, the cook ran towards her.

Angry, he pulled the knife from the driversolved the count that was indicated in the box, showed Candelaria that the result was 108 and told her to open the lock with that key.

Without being able to hide his annoyance, after doing all this, in a very firm tone, he complained to the driver about Master Chef Argentina: “Violence gets you nowhere, Wanda”. Relentless, she retorted: “If you gave me another five minutes, I’d crush this box.”.

"Violence leads nowhere, Wanda," warned Martitegui to the host of MasterChef. Catch TV.
