Fito Paez premiered a brand new version of his classic song Brilliant on the mictogether with the young singer Angela Aguilar.
With a clear voice and a fresh image, the Mexican artist puts her stamp on this unforgettable song, dedicated to Fabiana Cantilo, on her emblematic album Love after love.
The meeting with Angela, daughter of the famous artist Pepe AguilarIt had already been announced by Fito when he posted photos with her in Mexico on Instagram, although he didn’t say why they had met. He just said they were making “some things”.

“I met Ángela Aguilar -said Páez- at a Latin Grammy gala a few years ago. She appeared alone in front of the microphone to an audience roaring on all four sides. I didn’t know anything about her. She started singing an a capella version of the crybaby. In the second verse, the entire audience seemed to be in a collective hypnosis and the young and talented Mexican artist managed to immerse us in a chilling silence typical of a David Lynch film. Unforgettable”.
And he added: “Years later I called her to sing I come to offer my heart at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and was lucky he accepted the invitation. Once again she dazzled the entire audience. Today we are summoned by a reversal of Brilliant on the mic in the context of the recording of this new album”.

The reinterpretation of a classic
As announced last year, like this Fito begins advertising his current re-reading of one of the masterpieces of his successful career: Love after lovefrom 1993. An album that marked several generations of music lovers throughout Latin America and still today continues to generate passion, as evidenced by his international tour since 2022, which has just gathered more than 70,000 people for two historic evenings at the Vélez Sarsfield stadium, in the city of Buenos Aires.
The new album will be released at the end of May.
