Last year, he received a four-year prison sentence and a bar from practicing law serious injuries that these four women suffered during their cosmetic surgeries.

Since the sentence is not definitive – it must be ratified by the Cassation -, today the condemned man goes free.

But his procedural situation would be further complicated in 2023 for another reason. the death of the a building contractor which he operated in 2021.

Christian ZarateAged 50, he entered the operating room on April 15 of that year to have a slight excess of fat removed (the technical name is dermolipectomy, something very similar to liposuction) and an abdominal hernia. The result was far from expected.

The situation was complicated at the Cemeco clinic in Caballito, where Lotocki rented an operating room continue to operate during the second wave of the pandemic, while the city government had decreed that only life-threatening operations should be performed, to guarantee beds that coronavirus patients may need.

Zárate was left under observation after more than two hours in the operating room. He decompensated around midnight and was managed to be stabilized by clinic staff, who had to intubate him. Lotocki arrived an hour later. While I was checking on him, his patient went into cardiac arrest and they had to call SAME.

Prosecutor Pablo Recchini has asked for it now expand physician inquiry statement for 18 points that the Medical Commission scored in the report, and the qualification of manslaughter (from one to five years) could be changed to simple murder with possible intent. The new cover has a phrase that goes from From 8 to 25 years in prison.

The prosecution points out that due to his knowledge as a doctor, Lotocki was presented with the idea that Zárate could die of complications, but He still went ahead with the operation..

The businessman grew up in a humble family in the San Justo neighborhood of Buenos Aires and lived between Ramos Mejía and Luján, where he bought land to build houses. He had two children from a previous marriage, which at the time of his death they were 16 and 18 years old.

Romina Sicoli, his partner of five years, filed a lawsuit, assisted by the lawyer Mariano Lizardo, who had already accused Lotocki in other criminal proceedings and was friend of the entrepreneur for 20 years.

The woman says that this novelty in the event, which she celebrates, it wraps her in a spiral of pain.

“Every time something happens, it comes back to the same thing. The same movie, on repeat, inside loop. But I respect the judge a lot, who arrested him at the beginning, when Lotocki barricaded himself in the clinic. It was the other House that released him for the paltry sum of 5 million pesos,” he said in an interview with TN.

Later, Romina spoke with clarion and was cautious in commenting on the prosecutor’s new request. “You have to see in June and July, wait for the judge’s resolution. I think they will change the cover, because the details of the expert opinion are scary,” he said.

Sunday marked two years since the death of his “life partner”, with whom planned to get married in Italy and have a child.

Romina, who is a textile designer, repeatedly warned her partner that Lotocki had been denounced by many women who had gone through his scalpel.

“But he, a manipulative and psychopathic, convinced him otherwise, that he wasn’t detained, that he had no reason or anything like that. And Cristian, who was 50, decided to do the same, for reasons of him ”, he marks.

Business man he hid almost all of his friends, including the attorney who would later act as the plaintiff in the lawsuit of her death, who would go with this controversial surgeon. In fact, two days before the operation, the pair had argued hard over that decision.

Lotocki — who also recommended double chin surgery to the businessman — never spoke to the widow, who “totally disagreed” that he was cast. Already resigned, she concentrated on advising her partner to “at least find out if she has a urinary tract infection”, intensive therapy at the clinic where she would be operated on.

The Cemeco clinic I was qualified for such an operationbut according to the prosecutor Recchini presented “serious judicial infringements and administrative irregularities”, such as the lack of a health director in charge and the fact that he did not have an intensive care unit reserved for a possible postponement.

Two key facts

Romina says that there is a “key testimony“by Pablo, a friend of Cristian who accompanied him to the clinic in place of his companion, thinking that for the return home he could have loaded him better in the car if he was still weak from the anesthesia. But Zárate” was operated on twice on the same day, on two different occasions. He had lost a lot of blood.”

Pablo said he saw “how they gave him sedatives instead of drugs or moved him” when the clinical picture worsened and that “They sedated him so he wouldn’t scream in pain”.

Despite the media condemnation of Lotocki – it should be noted that that of Justice was only in 2022 -, Romina says that the entrepreneur came to that doctor “because she saw him on TV, on Instagram”, who “she fell in love with him” and that “there was no way of convincing him otherwise”.

This is also essential.

From Silvina Luna, who a few days ago declared that she was about to undergo a kidney transplant due to “aesthetic choices from the past” (she underwent buttock surgery with Lotocki and the consequent complications are renal failure and hypercalcemia), to Xipolitakis, including Gabriela Trenchi, another of the women who denounced him, said yes they issued notes to alert the population about this famous doctor.

There is another fact that must not go unnoticed.

In addition to the fact that his partner showed Zárate the complaints against Lotocki, the entrepreneur knew Gabriela Trenchi from the age of 16. Then, she was close to one of the victims and the lawyer who represented her was also her friend. Yet he chose it.

He paid a $6,000 down payment for the surgeries. “I had five operations done that day. They never gave me an invoice. Imagine the money he made. At least $30,000,” the woman added, emphasizing her desire that “while justice determines whether or not he serves his sentence, Lotocki doesn’t keep working or promoting the shit he does.”

Lotocki was arrested at the clinic after the death and later released. But 24 hours later, at the time of the investigation, the judge decided to arrest him on charges of manslaughter and malpractice.

In his statement, the doctor said “Cristian was a difficult patientwhich it was not allowed to deal with”.

The expertise that would change the cover

One of the points that complicates his situation refers to the fact that the Medical Commission considered that Zárate underwent “multiple operations” on the same day, when they should have been performed “in different phases”; this also altered history not stating that the patient was a diabetic and a smoker. And that, of course, he didn’t take any Covid tests.

Also, that Lotocki did not closely monitor the patient once the intervention is completed; did not reserve units of blood for the patient in case of complications and that he had to resort to two units of plasma reserved for another patient.

Obviously the doctor did not forget to get Zárate to sign a consensus of the Argentine Society of Plastic Surgery (SACPER). But that document is considered apocryphal, because the surgeon did not belong to that entity.

Lotocki is a surgeon, but he didn’t specialize in cosmetic surgery. By law, until a regulation says otherwise, plastic surgery is allowed. On his Instagram he is simply perceived as “body modeling specialist”.
