Matthew Perry keeps trying make amends for the crude irony -which some see as an insult- which he did to Keanu Reeves in his memoir Friends, lovers and the big awful thing.
There, Matthew Perry, one of the six stars of the television sitcom Friends, spawned a tremendous controversy when he mentioned Keanu Reeves while paying tribute to the late actor River Phoenix.
“River was a beautiful man, inside and out; he turned out to be too good for this world, ”perry wrote in the book. “It always seems that it is the really talented guys who go down. Because original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves is still walking among us?”, He wondered.
And then he continued: “River was a better actor than me; he was funnier. But when I think back, I definitely stood up to the scenes we did together, which is no small thing.”
Perry’s apology

“I said stupid. It was a bad thing to do,” Perry said. “I took his name because I live on the same street. I publicly apologized to him. Any future version of the book will not be named after him, ”he assured those present.
