The list of films that will be viewed as part of the Cannes Film Festival expands and there will be more Argentine presence. In Eureka, Alonso once again has Vigo Mortensen to tell the story of Murphy, a father looking for his daughter. Set in 1870, it is divided into four episodes in different parts of the world and also stars the French actress Chiara Mastroianni, daughter of Catherine Deneuve and Marcello Mastroianni.
Alonso’s previous film, Ohalso interpreted by Mortensen, he had already participated in the Un certain mirada section in 2014.
That’s not the only news announced, given that Mexican director Amat Escalante will also be present at the Palais des Festivals in May, when he will accompany his new feature film, Lost at Night, also in the Cannes Premiere section. Escalante already presented Blood, the bastards AND Eli at the Festival, with a directing award for the latter title in 2013.

The 76th Cannes Film Festival will run from May 16 to 27 with new films by Wes Anderson, Nanni Moretti, Wim Wenders, Ken Loach and Brazilian Karim Aïnouz, among others, competing for the Palme d’Or, and outside will be screened the new Martin Scorsese and the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones saga, interpreted as always by Harrison Ford, plus Elementaryof Pixar.
Out of competition it will also be possible to see the new short film by Pedro Almodóvar, strange way to livethe return to the direction of the Spanish Víctor Erice, Close your eyeswith Ana Torrent and Soledad Villamil, and with music by the Argentinean Federico Jusid.
