Roger Waters in Argentina: How is the ‘This is Not a Drill’ show?
The concerts of the “This Is Not a Drill” tour have been described as “one of the most engaging, imaginative, and well-executed examples of stadium rock to ever be seen,” according to one publication Times.
It is conceived as a highly conceptual show from start to finish, where songs from iconic Pink Floyd albums (The wall, Dark side of the moon, Animals AND I wish you were here) intersect with more recent tracks from his solo career, including his most recent single, The Bar, released last year.
The setlist includes 20 Pink Floyd songs such as Another brick in the wall, part 2, I wish you were here, Shine crazy diamond, Us and them and C.comfortably numb.
The live setting is simply fantastic. It includes gigantic projections accompanying various themes raised by the music, resulting in a show true to the spirit behind the entire career of this musician, composer and lyricist who has always been involved in the circumstances of his time.
Waters sings, plays guitar, bass and piano. He will be joined by Jonathan Wilson on guitar and vocals, Dave Kilminster on guitar and vocals, Jon Carin on keyboards, guitar and vocals, Gus Seyffert on bass and vocals, Robert Walter on keyboards, Joey Waronker on drums, Amanda Belair on vocals , and Seamus Blake on sax.
It will be the last chance to see him in Argentina.
A true rock legend
Roger Waters is one of the few musicians who hold the title of true living legend. The co-founder of Pink Floyd, one of the most important rock bands of all time, who pioneered music with highly successful concept albums, is still active today with a fruitful solo career.
How could it be otherwise, Waters had to cross these latitudes to greet his Argentinian fans – one of the most loyal he has in the world – with whom he has developed a close bond throughout his career.
and it’sThe place could only be the Monumentalewhere he gave 9 unforgettable recitals in 2012 as part of his “The Wall Live” world tour, which broke an all-time record for the number of performances in River in a single visit for the history of show business in Argentina.
It took ten years for another artist to surpass him: Coldplay.
In addition, he had two shows in the same stadium in 2007 with his “Dark Side of the Moon” tour. When it comes to who has done more River shows in his career, Roger Waters is tied for first place with this recital alongside the Rolling Stones, who have played a total of 12 River shows.
