Johan Renckdirector of the award-winning miniseries “Chernobyl”, has been announced by HBO Max as the director of the first two episodes of the spinoff series “Dune”, a film by Denis Villeneuve. The information is from Variety.

Titled “Dune: The Sisterhood”, the series takes place 10,000 years before the events of the film, in the plot, a mysterious group of women known as the Bene Gesserit, who possess extraordinary abilities and complete control of their mind and body. After a series of political machinations and mysterious goals, the Bene Gesserit are led to the planet Arrakis, known to its inhabitants as Dune.

Previously, the Villeneuve was confirmed to direct the pilot, but the production of “Dune: Part 2” derailed the plans.

Diane Ademu-John (“The Haunting of Bly Manor”) is the screenwriter, showrunner and executive producer of the series. rent and Villeneuve will also be in production.

The series does not yet have a premiere date or an announced cast.
