Hawkins’ death on March 25, 2022 in Colombia forced the band to cancel their South American tour that had just begun and put the members’ careers on hold for a while.
Many believed the band would end, as it was already known how much it had cost Grohl to return to music following the death of friend Kurt Cobain and now Hawkins was also leaving. But with a few concerts paying homage to the drummer, Foo Fighters confirmed to be working on new music in late 2022.
And now they are complete again.
