Promote a novel in full unemployment

What a paradox, it fell to Tom Hanks to promote his first novel, about the process and people involved in making a film, in the midst of the strike of more than 11,000 Hollywood film and television writers, who have since picketed May 2 out of channels, studios and all streaming companies.

“The industry is at a crossroads and needs to sit down to fix it,” is what Hanks thinks.

The plaintiff claims to be a member of all trade unions, including that of the producer, and therefore argues that the problem is complex to solve, even if he obviously sympathizes with the writers that they have said enough, because they are the creators of the content that is sold with great profits and do not receive remuneration based on their contribution.

“It doesn’t have to do with the artistic, but with the financial one -he assures-, with which portion of the cake you will give to whoever creates the content for you”.

Remember I was filming Charlie Wilson’s Warwith Julia Roberts, when 15 years ago there was the previous writers’ strike, 100 days that cost the industry 2,500 million dollars and to which he also expressed solidarity. “It was very depressing on set, everyone sitting around waiting for news of a fix that wasn’t coming.”

In these 2 weeks where the conflict is going on, it is very common to see artists coming to the pickets to show them solidarity.

Could be Tina Fei OR susan sarandon. And in the absence of new entertainment on late night television shows that are all on hold, some artists want to entertain the writers who always entertain them for once. As happened in front of Netflix, in the Hollywood neighborhood, where the guitarist and singer of Imagine Dragons approached to sing their hits.

The first was in 1984 when I was just starting out and was acting Sketches. He thought he should be as funny as the comedian. John Candybut director Ron Howard explained that his only mission in the film was to fall in love with the girl/mermaid, Daryl Anna.

Understand what the text says, your first lesson. Mister cute boy, as they call it here, wants to invite us to share their journey. Respected on both sides of the crack, in his many facets as a comedian, dramatic actor, producer, writer.

On his Instagram account he made a video in which he is seen surrounded by his brand new books on the day of the editorial launch, with a matching soundtrack. “Sir, ma’am, will you read my book? It took me years to write it,” sing the Beatles Paperback writer. And why not, Tom Hanks also dreams of becoming a paperback writer.
