The role of the actress Romina Fernandessa Hail It talked to people, as did the film starring Guillermo Francella and directed by Marcos Carnevale, which was recently released on Netflix. For the character of Carla, a doctor from Cordoba, Romina somewhat received criticism because of the accent. However, he assured, much more praise, to this successful film on the platform.
Sa Hail, Carla, is the daughter of meteorologist Miguel Flores (Francella), with whom she maintains a distant relationship, not only because she lives in Córdoba, but also because of emotional short-circuits. In real life, Romina is the daughter of director and teacher of actors Augusto Fernandes, where he inherited a vocation in acting.
-How did you take the comments to criticize your Cordovan accent?
-For me, a snowball is combined with that theme and became more important than now. The basis of the performance is someone else’s play and the accent is another spice when it comes to putting together a character. Because I knew this could happen, I prepared myself for several months with a coach to meet the tone. But there are people who get purist, who have something subjective and add fuel to the fire.
Romina Fernandes recounted her preparation over two months with a coach to smooth out her Cordovan accent.
-There are some fairly aggressive critics.
-There are yes, somewhat fundamentalists who wonder why they didn’t take the actor to Cordoba. In the film, in the scenes shot in Córdoba, all the actors and actresses are from Córdobaas well as as part of the production team.
The actress made sure that one of the users who most strongly criticized her on TikTok called her later to apologize. “I think it’s pretty unfair. Are there tune sommeliers? In Córdoba, as in any province, there are different socio-cultural universes and not all of them have the same accent, ”he said.
And as with detractors, he also received a lot of praise for his work. “I kept the good stuff,” he said.
The first is directly from Guillermo Francella who, before the pandemic, saw Romina in the play an enemy of the peopleOne season at Mar del Plata, he enjoyed his performance and he went to the dressing room to greet him.
A few months later, the actress attended an awards ceremony with her father and some colleagues told them that Francella had spoken a lot about Romina. “I hope it’s not just a comment and someday i will call you to work“Fernandes told his daughter.

Time passed, the famous director passed away in 2018 and exactly one year after his death, Romina received a call from Carnevale to summon her to an audition for Hailat Francella’s suggestion. “It’s tearful that they called me that day”said the actress. Soon, he auditioned and was cast.
“It was a very strong bet for them, because I don’t know and Carla is a leading character. I’ve been working for a long time, but I’m not famousso I appreciate the generosity of giving me this opportunity to Guillermo and Marcos ”, he said.
On the other hand, the figure of his father has not ceased to have a presence in the history of Hail. “My character’s name is Carla and my father’s name is Carlos Augusto Fernandes, but because he didn’t like Carlos, he didn’t use him,” he says, feeling that, from somewhere, he is accompanied and guided by his father in his work.
He adds: “Just like in the movie, I also had to rebuild a fairly distant bond with my dad and luckily, in his last years, we were able to be very close.”
Romina Fernandes received the call to work at “Granizo” just a year after her father’s death.
-Despite being one of the most-watched Netflix productions in the world, the film has been a hit by many. Why do you think this is happening?
-Perhaps because it was an unprecedented success for an Argentine production on Netflix. A Hail he was good in Bulgaria, in Israel, in Taiwan. And there the accent doesn’t matter at all because it’s dubbed. It’s embarrassing when so much evil is put into a project. Social networks, in that sense, contribute greatly to enhancing this resentment. If you didn’t like the movie, release it and watch another one.
-Do you feel that from now on another stage will begin in your career?
-I think. I don’t know what will happen, but I know I gave it my all and I’m happy with my growth. It was like a gift to me from my father.
-Would you like your film work?
-It’s very powerful, because it’s a very important duty and he can’t see it. I’m used to his opinion, his critical eye and his word, which saw things not seen by others. I learned a lot from him and he was very demanding, but he would definitely be proud.
Now, Fernandes is waiting for a movie in Uruguay, Olivebased on the work of Juan Leyrado extra virginwhich will have a cast of Argentines and Uruguayans, including Juan Leyrado, Ignacio Toselli and Andrea Frigerio, under the direction of Luciano Leyrado.
