Series received the awards at the 15th Honorable Mention of the Television Academy
The series “Dopesick” (Hulu), “Insecure” (HBO), “It’s A Sin” (HBO Max) and “Reservation Dogs” (FX) were the big picks to receive the Honorary Emmy in the 15th Honorable Mention of the Television Academy The award aims to recognize “exceptional television programs and their producers who have leveraged the immense power of television to drive social change”.
This year, the awards will also honor the documentary/non-fiction series “Black and Missing” and “Taste the Nation: Holiday Edition.” The special documentary “The Year Earth Changed” is also included in the list.

These seven remarkable shows have enlightened viewers and championed some of the most significant issues facing our global community.” stated the President/CEO of Television Academy, Frank Schermain a statement released by Variety. “We are pleased to honor these extraordinary programs and producers who are committed to influencing social change.”
The selected productions address important topics in their scripts, which are topics of constant debate in society, such as racism, AIDS, the COVID-19 pandemic, immigration, Native American representation, the problems faced by black women and American hatred against Asians.
