The film is set to hit theaters in September 2023
The new film in the horror franchise “A Quiet Place”, which will serve as a prequel to the feature films directed by John Krasinski, had its official title released this Thursday (28). The spinoff is called “A Quiet Place: Day One” and is slated to hit theaters in 2023.
The spin-off will be directed by Michael Sarnoski, from “Pig”, and should further expand the post-apocalyptic world of the saga. In addition, the franchise will still get a new film, “A Quiet Place: Part III”, which will follow the original idea of Krasinski, writer and director of the first two films in the franchise.
Released in 2018 and 2020, “A Quiet Place” follows an American family Abbott being pursued by a terrifying ghostly entity. To protect themselves from these creatures that have devastated humanity, they must remain absolutely silent, as danger is activated by the perception of sound. Together, the two films in the franchise have grossed over $600 million at the worldwide box office.
“A Quiet Place 3” will only be released in 2025, while the derivative production – which remains without plot details – is scheduled to premiere on September 22, 2023.
