Star+ has just announced the completion of the recording of “How To Be a Carioca”, a series with Douglas Silvafrom “BBB 22”, and Your George (“Brotherhood”). The platform’s new comedy series comes to streaming in 2023.
Recorded in Rio de Janeiro, the production will have 6 episodes lasting 40 minutes each. Based on the best-seller of the same name, the series shows with great humor and affection “the carioca way of being”.
A true survival manual in the Marvelous City in which each episode, a foreigner will live an adventure in the best “gringo” style in an attempt to adapt to the local culture.
In the national list are Your George (Francis), Malu Mader (Solange), Douglas Silva (Luiz Henrique), Raquel Villar (Renata), Débora Nascimento (Soraya), Nego Ney (Silvio), Mart’nália (Xerxes) and Danilo Ferreira (I stop).
In the international cast are the Argentine actresses Veronica Llinas (Irene), Andrea Frigerio (Graciela), the German actor Peter Ketnath (Mathias), the Syrian actor Ahmad Kontar (Nabil), Israeli actress Swell Ariel (Laila), and the Angolan actors Heloísa Jorge (Karima) and Lelis Twevekamba (Augustine), among others.
Co-created and directed by Carlos Saldanha (“Rio”, “Ice Age”, “The Bull Ferdinando”) and Joana Mariani (“O Cheiro do Ralo”, “All Canções de Amor”), the series is also a co-creation of Diogo Dahl (“New World”) and direction of René Sampaio (“Unclean”), and script of Rodrigo Nogueira, Sabrina Rosa and Felipe Scholl.
