The film depicts the love story between Felicia Montealegre and the composer Leonard Bernstein
The actress Maya Hawkebest known for interpreting Robin Buckley in the series “Stranger Things”, joined Bradley Cooper (“A Star Is Born”) and Carey Mulligan (“Beautiful Vengeance”) in the cast of “Maestro”. According to THR, Cooper directs and writes the Netflix project alongside Josh Singer.
The drama will portray the complex love story between the composer Leonard Bernstein (Cooper) and Felicia Cohn Montealegre (Mulingan). The production follows from the moment they met at a party in 1946 and will continue to show their relationship, the marriage that lasted 25 years, the raising of their three children (Jamie, Alexander and Nina) and how Bernstein struggled with his own sexual orientation.
The cast will still Matt Bomer (“White Collar Crimes”) and Jeremy Strong (“Succession”). In the film, Maya Hawke will play the couple’s daughter, Nina.
Filming for the feature begins in May and should take place in New York. Cooper, martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Kristie MacoskoKrieger, Fred Berner and amy Durning will produce “Maestro”.
