Devery Jacobs will star in the new Marvel Echo series

Mohawk actress Devery Jacobs, who hails from Kahnawake, near Montreal, is continuing her path to Hollywood. After being depicted in the series Booked Dogs and in the Quebec film Bootlegger by Caroline Monnet, she was chosen to play Echoa new series from the Marvel universe to be released at Disney +.

Echo centered on the character of Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox, who has already appeared in miniseries Hawkeyelaunched at Disney+ last fall.

Maya Lopez is a Native, deaf superheroine with the power to mimic the fighting style of her human opponent.

Last fall, Devery Jacobs confessed, in an interview with Radio-Canada, his desire to one day star in a Marvel movie and see a Black Panther (Black Panther) native.

I was moved to watch Black Panther, because I’ve never seen a film like this and I wonder what it feels like for the black community to see themselves as super people on one screen, he explained. I look forward to the day when aboriginals can do the same.

Devery Jacobs will play her role as Elora Danan in the second season of Booked Dogs. He also participates in the writing of these new episodes.
