Michael Bublé moved everyone by telling how the cancer his son Noah suffered from and how he managed to recover changed his life and that of his family.

The Canadian singer, married to Argentine actress Luisana Lopilato, has four children from that marriage: Noah, 9; Elias, 7 years old; Vita, 4 and Paradiso, 10 months.

In 2016, Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato found themselves hearing the medical diagnosis no parent ever wants to hear: little Noha was suffering from a type of liver cancer called hepatoblastoma.

Noah’s parents then felt that the world had collapsed under their feet, but they became strong and took care of the child day and night, following all the medical instructions they received in the city of Los Angeles, in the United States, where the child did the treatment, and they trusted that fate would be compassionate towards the child. It turned out like this: the boy managed to overcome the disease.

Now, after the years have passed and with Noah enjoying good health, in an interview with the Diary Of A CEO podcast, Michael Bublé explained what the very difficult illness his son suffered meant in his personal life.

My son’s cancer diagnosis rocked my world…said the musician. He took the blindfold off my eyes. It was a hard blow to my reality: I will never be worry-free again in my life, and that’s okay.”.

With complete transparency, Bublé continued to explain his feelings: “It is a privilege for me to exist,” he said, “and the pain and fear and suffering that come from these things are part of this life.”

Bublé, before his son’s illness: “I wanted more ego, more power.”

Having said that, he added: “When this happened, I was going through a crisis. I don’t think I had my priorities straight at the time. My family has always been loving, I don’t think he was a terrible guy, but he had blinders on.“.

In a harsh self-criticism, he claimed: “It’s as if up until that moment my life had been behind a curtain, as if it had had a filter. The moment they said, “This is what’s happening,” reality hit me hard.: the filter disappeared, in a second.”

So I said, “Okay, that’s it.” This is life. This is the important thing. “It wasn’t that I really thought about it – there was no time to process it, it just happened,” Michael Bublé added.

Then, visibly moved, Bublé told what promise he made and under what circumstances, hoping and praying that Noah would overcome cancer.

Without hesitation, the Canadian recalled that situation. After clarifying that the environment in which he made the promise to him was “not sexy at all,” he described him as being at a urinal on the beach with his children. And in that picture his promise emerged.

Even today Michael Bublé evokes it like this: “I remember closing my eyes and saying to myself: “If we get out of this I will live a different life, a better life”. AND I did it, I made that promise to myself in an instant and I kept it“, he has declared.
