A few days ago, Flavio Mendoza He was at the center of criticism after sharing a video with his son Dionisio (5), which showed the boy doing a dangerous pirouette in a swimming pool. After the questions received on social media, the choreographer defended himself.
In very morning (El Trece, Monday to Friday at 9) were interviewing Flavio when they asked him for information. “There was a video where you threw Dionisio into the pool and he had fun, but people might have their own opinion about each other’s education.” “How do you deal with this problem when they joke with your child?”Estefi Berardi asked himself.
“It’s easy to criticize behind a keyboard and that’s why I say that these are people who perhaps pay more attention to the lives of others than to their own. They end up making me feel sorry for myself, I don’t even have time to respond”, he began.
And then he referred to the harsh upbringing he experienced and the example he wants to pass on to his son: “I was a beaten son. My mother beat me badly. I never raised a finger against my son. And I raise him so respectfully.”.
Flavio then explained why Dionisio learned to swim from a very young age: “One of the reasons why I made Dio swim is because as a child I experienced something, a very bad thing at the circus with a boy who had fallen into a well. And I was saying always ‘my son has to swim when he’s born’. I made sure he swam, “I spent two years getting in the water with him so he could learn to swim.”
“I take care of my son. After all, he wanted to do it too. It’s not that I forced him. It’s not that I give him the tablet or the cell phone like an electronic pacifier. And those people are stupid, yes because surely those those who criticize me have children with tablets and cell phone-type electronic pacifiers. And this is worse”, he concluded, criticizing those who question him.
Pirouette by Dionisio for which Flavio Mendoza is destroyed in the nets
On his Instagram account, where he has more than one and a half million followers, the dancer and choreographer published images showing the dangerous stunt performed by his son.
In the video of the post you can see that Flavio is in front of his huge swimming pool, standing on a wall, several meters from the water. There, his son approaches him and tells him to come out. “Are you crazy? NO! Daddy is playing, he can’t even get out of here,” exclaimed Mendoza seeing the boy’s enthusiasm. “Yes, I want it!” Said the little one.
“Oh God, why did I give him the idea? Should I shoot? Like Charly,” Mendoza warned, referring to Charly García’s famous moment more than two decades ago, when he dived into a swimming pool from the ninth floor of a hotel located in the city of Mendoza.
“I’m about to end the season, I see I’m injured,” the producer managed to say and then made Dionisio climb on the wall overlooking the swimming pool. Soon after, Flavio grabbed his son by the arms and threw him into the water, creating a funny moment for the 5-year-old.
This earned him hundreds of criticisms on social media, criticizing his fatherhood for the dangerous pirouette he made the boy do. “A great stupidity to throw away the child. A grace that can be very risky,” said a woman on X (formerly Twitter). Meanwhile, another added: “Bad idea, because the child will see if at a certain point he gets up there alone and wants to jump.”
